Arlean Lenhart Childs
Arlean was born and reared in the tiny village of
Egypt, Bradford Township, Clearfield County,
Pennsylvania. She married Norman C. Childs June
16, 1960. She is the mother of two children and
has five grandchildren. She has served as a church
and social work secretary. She loves to quilt and
has taught quilting at the college level. Her
hobby is genealogy. She is presently doing
research on eight different family trees and
intends to write at least one book on each of these.
She has researched across the states of New York,
Pennsylvania and Maryland. In her research she has
utilized state and county libraries, historical
societies, personal interviews, military records, United
States Census records, and internet resources. She
has entered over 8,443 names and data into the
computerized Family Tree Maker Program.
